WASHINGTON (CBSDFW/AP) - Donald Trump has officially selected Indiana Governor Mike Pence as his running mate.

Trump made the announcement a day after a source confirmed to CBS News that Pence would earn the selection.

Trump says he'll hold a news conference on Saturday morning.

Trump had originally planned to announce his running mate on Friday. But he delayed the announcement because of the attacks in Nice, France, late Thursday.

Pence, a 57-year-old, is a native of Columbus, Indiana.

He's been the Governor of Indiana since 2013.
