DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Jacked up on bricks with their rims and tires gone, some residents in East Dallas feel thieves are targeting them for their wheels.
"You're just like in shock, you're like 'wow'," said Katie Taylor, an East Dallas Resident.
Taylor said for the eighth time, she has walked outside of her home and seen her car hoisted up on bricks with all four wheels missing.
"It's just like you work so hard to afford something nice and they just take it from you and it just feels horrible," said Taylor.
Even though she has since purchased wheel-locks, Taylor said the thieves just drill right through the lugs.
Even more worrisome, she is not alone. Dallas Police reports indicate over the last few months that at least five other people have also had their rims and tires ripped off from them.
"Are they going to get more brazen and come up onto your porch?" questioned Taylor.
Across town in Highland Park, residents there are also waking up to undriveable vehicles.
"I was kind of in awe. I haven't seen that a lot," said Jon Filbert of Highland Park.
On Tuesday, Filbert said all four tires and rims were stolen from his SUV. The shop estimated it will cost $7,000 to fix.
"Walking outside and seeing your car on blocks isn't the best feeling in the world," said Filbert.
Highland Park Police said detectives are working with other agencies in the area to see if the crimes are all related.
Taylor said she has worked too hard for what she has and is not backing down from whoever is responsible.
"Get a real job where you make real money and don't take things from people that don't belong to you," said Taylor.
