DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A dense morning fog has settled over much of North Texas and is slowing the commute for motorists while also delaying some flights.

Forecasts for metro regions in Texas call for the thick fog to lift later Tuesday morning.

CBS 11 Storm Team Meteorologist Jeff Ray said, "We do expect fog to burn away before lunchtime and we'll enjoy partly sunny skies this afternoon."

Fog also is impairing visibility in the Austin, Houston and San Antonio regions, and the National Weather Service has issued a dense fog advisory for many parts of the state.
