The Search For Miss Deal

The concept of no man left behind goes back to before the United States was independent, but it is the code that our military lives by to this day.

For one North Texas man it has become his quest to bring home the body of his uncle who was killed when his B-17 bomber was shot down in Northern Germany in 1943.

"She was lost in the first Hamburg raid.  My uncle and the pilot are still entombed in the plane.  What I want to do is I want to get my uncle and his pilot home" said  Tony Crawford, author of  25 June 1943 - M.I.A. - The Search for Miss Deal.

Profits from the book will go to the recovery efforts as well as a documentary by Emmy Award winning director Emily Bernhard of the entire story.

JD Ryan is Around Town with this heartwarming story of a veteran that might finally make it home.
