CLEAR CREEK, COLORADO (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — 47-year-old Michelle Math of Wylie, Texas was found dead after Whitewater rafting in Clear Creek, Colorado.

Authorities found employees of a rafting company performing CPR on the woman.

Despite efforts to revive her, deputies pronounced Math dead at the scene.

The accident happened in a popular location for rafters, between mile marker 258 and mile marker 259 along Highway 6, which is considered intermediate. The raft belonged to the commercial company All American Adventures. There were several people on board when the raft overturned.

"A lot of people get thrown out in Clear Creek, they might get banged up a little bit but usually they get back into the boat or get out of the water and they are okay," Clear Creek County Sheriff Rick Albers told CBS 4 in Denver.

Albers said the water in Clear Creek is moving very quickly; but the water is not at its peak level.

According to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office, cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
