AUSTIN (AP) - Texas troopers will be out in force looking for drunken drivers and travelers not buckled up during Thanksgiving and through the weekend.

DPS on Monday urged drivers to use caution while on the roads this holiday week.

Texas troopers, during last year's Thanksgiving period, arrested 242 people for DWI, issued 5,223 speeding citations, plus wrote 682 citations for no insurance. Troopers also issued 599 seat belt-child safety seat citations.

DPS patrols during Thanksgiving 2014 also resulted in 135 fugitive arrests and 97 felony arrests.
