SOUTH TEXAS (CBSDFW) - A new statue on the Sugarland Town Square plaza is turning heads.

The new bronze statue features two teen girls - taking a selfie with a mobile phone.

According to reports, area residents started to complain about the statue, featuring the typical self-engrossed millennial, as being a waste of tax dollars.

After some digging, it was discovered that the statue was donated by the Sugar Land Legacy Foundation.

The artwork is part of a series showing how people spend their time in the square.
