Texas Rangers Submit Report About McKinney Pool Party To Prosecutors

Nearly seven months after cell phone video of a McKinney pool party went viral and made national headlines, the Texas Rangers submitted their investigative findings to the Collin County District Attorney's Office.

There's no word if criminal charges are recommended against one of the officers who responded, Eric Casebolt.

Neither investigators nor prosecutors will talk about what's in the report.

On Monday, officer Casebolt's attorney Tom Mills said in a phone interview that he would be disappointed if his client was indicted.

Casebolt, who resigned a short time after the early June incident, pulled his gun on an 18-year-old man at the party, and is accused of mishandling a 14-year-old girl by bringing her to the ground.

Mills says at the time, police dispatch told Casebolt and other officers who responded that crimes were being committed.

As a result, Mills says his client didn't do anything wrong.

Residents in the Craig Ranch neighborhood were split over the officer's actions:

Some say Casebolt was treated unfairly.

Others believe he used too much force in the effort to restore order.

We called the attorneys representing the 14 and 18 year olds involved, but they didn't call us back.

None of the residents we spoke with wanted to be interviewed on-camera.

But all of them said this neighborhood has gotten back to normal, the families directly involved moved out, and that this remains a tightly knit community.
