COPPELL (AP) - Retail gasoline prices in Texas rose 6 cents this week to reach an average $1.99 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump nationwide was up a nickel to reach an average $2.20 per gallon.

The association survey found Texarkana has the most expensive gasoline in Texas this week at an average $2.01 per gallon. Drivers in San Antonio have the cheapest gasoline statewide at an average $1.93 per gallon.

Crude oil markets have reacted to the recent OPEC announcement of plans to cut production during 2017. AAA experts say this time of year usually has lower gasoline prices as a result of cheaper to produce winter-blend fuel and less demand.
