Texas Ballerina Donating Items To Smithsonian's African American Museum

This weekend, thousands of people are expected to be in Washington D.C. for the opening of Smithsonian's African American Museum of History and Culture and there will be several Texas connections.

There's the astronaut Mae Jemison, and athlete Carl Lewis is donating his gold medals. But, in the arts world, there's Lauren Anderson.

Anderson is the first African-American woman to become a principal dancer for a major ballet company, the Houston Ballet. She's donating a pair of her slippers and other items to the Museum
