MINERAL WELLS (CBSDFW.COM) - A half dozen, storm damaged homes in Mineral Wells are finally seeing repairs two months after strong winds damaged their homes -- and the relief is provided by 85 teenage volunteers.

Shirley Human has had leaks in her roof above the kitchen.

"The wind, hard rains, they just blew what was left of that roof up there, just blew it around," Shirley said. "And opened it up and made it leak there. And it was in bad shape."

Shirley Human's roof was no match for the May and Human hasn't been in any shape physically or financially to repair the roof.

"I haven't been able to do anything," she said. "I've been going through breast cancer."

Human tells me she prayed for an answer to fix her leaking roof and she received it.

"I needed to go look for love," she said. "And I went to the City Mineral Wells."

And Mineral Wells connected her with churches who got a handle on the problem. A Texas Baptist program called Bounce! brought in high school aged volunteers who are on a mission to help.

Tuesday morning the staccato tapping of hammers and the whirs of electric saws echoed through Mineral Wells.

Bounce! will work there all week with young people from churches near Houston, Waco, the Hill Country and even New Mexico. While other teens take a summer break, these volunteers will toil in the sun to repair homes like Human's and build a life-lesson about giving.

"Coming into it, a lot of them may see it as just painting somebody's wall for them," said Bounce! spokesman Kyle Crim. "By the end of the week they see how grateful that person is because they couldn't have done it themselves."

"There's just no words," Human said. "It's God directing the people. That's the love he was telling me about. Go look for love! It's out there!"
