SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A 16-year-old was arrested in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man riding in the backseat of a sport utility vehicle.

Police say an investigation revealed that the suspect began shooting at the vehicle's rear windshield Thursday night after a juvenile in the vehicle raised his middle finger and made an arm gesture as they drove past.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that a police report states the two juveniles had a history of confrontation with one another.

Roland Cruz was shot in the back of his head. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say officers found the suspect at home and in possession of a handgun.

The suspect has been booked into the Bexar County Juvenile Detention Center on a homicide charge.
