DALLAS (AP) - The family of a teenager injured when a tractor-trailer struck a bus carrying a college softball team, killing four players, has filed a lawsuit against the trucking company and the driver of the rig.

A Dallas law firm announced the negligence suit Tuesday, filed on behalf of Rachel Hitt. She was one of two players for North Central Texas College hospitalized following the Sept. 26 collision on Interstate 35 in Oklahoma.

Four of her teammates were killed when the tractor-trailer crossed the center median and into oncoming traffic. Driver Russell Wayne Staley of Saginaw, Texas, told investigators he was distracted by something in his cab. The investigation continues.

Staley could not be reached for comment Tuesday and a call to the trucking company, Quickway Carriers, was not immediately returned.
