Suddenly Summer

Rain chances are confined to our southeast corner today as well as the persistent cloud cover. For the majority of north Texas Sunday has sunshine, the start of the longest run of dry weather in some time. If heading to the any of the area lakes a nice afternoon in store for us:

Beware of high water however; the rains of Spring has pushed almost all the lakes above pool:

 

Ten days in a row of recorded rain at DFW airport produced more rain than we would typically get in the entire month of June. Other than the small storms chances southeast today the work week ahead looks very dry:

 

Given the time of year (early June) not only will we finally dry out around north Texas we'll finally start to warm up. DFW Airport has logged only two days that hit 90° or higher so far this year. We'll double that amount by Friday:

A ridge of high pressure in the upper atmosphere will set-up over most of the United States this week. This means hot and dry weather for all of the Midwest:

 

We'll enjoy a north wind today all the way to Tuesday. As soon as the surface high moves off to our east however the south wind brings the humidity back. It'll be rather uncomfortable by end of the week:

It appears that the third Tropical Storm of the season will form in the Gulf of Mexico later today or tomorrow. T.S. Colin will move over Florida on Monday night and Tuesday bringing a flooding rain:

   

But dry weather is the theme for north Texas this week. The last time we went 5 days without measureable rain at DFW Airport it was early April:
