The boot thefts were reported to police in January and March 2014. In both cases, the boots were swiped from a storage container in a Carrollton parking lot. About 6,400 pairs of Justin and Tony Lama boots were taken.

In May, Carrollton police detectives working in conjunction with the Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Rangers, served search warrants in Princeton, Dallas and Grand Prairie. Authorities were able to to recover all but about 300 pair of the boots, estimated value $1 million. Police also found another $600,000 worth of stolen merchandise including washers, dryers, clothing, electronics, tires, and food.

Six arrests have been made, but no names or pictures have been released. Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
