Springsteen Rocks Rain-Soaked Crowd In Dallas
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Bruce Springsteen rewarded those who stood in the rain at Reunion Park with a high-energy three-hour long performance that included the 64-year-old singer crowd-surfing.
Springsteen and the E Street Band capped off a wet and soggy three-day free March Madness Music Festival in downtown Dallas. At its fullest the grass field at Reunion Park on Sunday still less than half full.
When the first band, The Wind + The Wave, took the stage at 2:00 pm in a steady rain the crowd was barely twenty rows deep. By the time Springsteen went on five hours later thousands of fans had turned out but it was still far from capacity.
Nevertheless, a handful of Springsteen fan arrived as early as 9:00 am to secure a spot close to the stage.
No umbrellas or lawn chairs were allowed inside, so staying dry was next to impossible.
"Our clothes are soaked," said 15-year-old Kaylee Castaneda, a Springsteen fan from Hurst. "But it's worth it."
Pat Green and Fun also performed Sunday.
