ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - There are spider webs as far as the eye can see in a Rowlett park.

The rare, widespread sticky mess is covering dozens of trees thanks to a colony of spiders getting to work in Lakeside Park South.

Experts say the spiders are harmless and actually helping out the ecology.  The last time this happened in North Texas was in 2007 according to the Rowlett Parks and Recreation Director.
