Dallas Police Make Arrests In Driveway Murder Of Hospital PR Executive Leslie Baker

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police sources tell CBS 11 detectives made five arrests Wednesday connected to the driveway murder of a Dallas hospital PR executive.

Leslie Baker was shot in the driver's seat of her car just outside her Preston Hollow home on Memorial Day.

Police made the arrests on Deerwood Drive near Camp Wisdom.

They came hours after undercover officers initiated a high speed pursuit of the suspects driving a stolen black Mercedes taken in a carjacking last night in Richardson.

During that carjacking, the suspects used a gun with a laser pointer on it to steal the car.

Baker, the 59-year-old PR executive, who worked for a hospital was shot and killed in her car after she pulled into her driveway off Royalton on Monday around 5:00 p.m.

The crime rattled a Preston Hollow neighborhood where random violence is rare.

Sources say video cameras from homes in the area were helpful in developing leads that led to Wednesday's arrests.

Baker was the Director of Marketing at Texas Health Center for Diagnostics & Surgery in Plano.

Police have not released details yet on the suspects' names or charges.

Sources said the suspects apparently targeted random victims and their violent crime spree includes murder.
