GRAPEVINE (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Airports in the Dallas area say travelers should check their flight status before coming to the airport.

Early Monday, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport was reporting that more than 35 departures were cancelled because of weather. De-icing was under way at both there and at Dallas Love Field. A Dallas Love Field spokesman says there were three cancellations there so far early Monday.

DFW Airport said early Monday that with a light snow falling, pavements there were wet but not icy. A statement issued by the airport said, in part -

"De-icing operations are expected for at least part of the morning, and Airport crews are monitoring conditions on the airfield and on the roadways."

CBS 11 Storm Team Meteorologist Lisa Villegas monitored weather conditions all through the early morning and has the rain, snow and sleet ending as the storm moves east. While weather is expected to be cloudy percipitation chances decrease as the day goes on.
