Six-Year-Old Dies 2 Days After Being Pulled From Fort Worth Pool

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Two days after she was pulled from a community pool in Fort Worth, a six-year-old girl has been pronounced dead.
The child, identified as Wavery Williams on the Tarrant County Medical Examiner website, was swimming at the Villas by the Park Apartments on East Berry Street.
She was taken to Cook Children's Hospital in critical condition, after emergency crews performed CPR. She was not conscious or breathing at the time.
The woman who pulled Wavery out of the pool, Sharon West, said there were no parents at the pool, but a lot of kids. After Wavery went under the water, another child ran over to her for help getting the child out of the water.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services reports 37 child drownings in 2015, as of June 30. The report does not include this most recent drowning or the drowning of another six-year-old in Fort Worth, also on July 1.
According to the Texas DFPS website, two drownings have been reported in Collin County, six in Dallas County, one in Denton County, one in Hood County, one in Parker County, and one in Tarrant County, as of June 30.
