DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - While investigators continue to search for the suspects in Wednesday's fatal shooting of an Iraqi immigrant, a vigil was held Sunday at the Dallas apartment complex where Ahmed Al-Jumaili was killed.

Nearly two dozen people stood in silence at the vigil. Some held candles, while others held signs that read "silence the violence".

The 36-year-old Al-Jumaili fled Iraq to get away from the violence, only for violence to find him less than three weeks after arriving here in the United States to be reunited with his wife.

"This is a brutal, horrific murder," said Alia Salem, the director of the North Texas chapter of the Council on American-Relations (CAIR-DFW).

Most of those who attended the vigil did not know Al-Jumaili but many said they understand his dreams.

"He was pursuing the 'American Dream," said Najiv Jizi of Wiley. "And he got the exact opposite. He lost his life."

By Saturday Dallas police released a grainy black and white security video showing four men shortly after the shooting who investigators said they believe are the suspects.
