PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) -An unusual sight has made some people in a Plano neighborhood wonder if they are safe in their community.

Last week a Pizza Hut manager was murdered. One customer was concerned when he picked up his order at that same Pizza Hut.

"I didn't know what to make of it. I noticed him in there," said customer Rod Boudreaux of the off-duty police officer standing armed outside of the Pizza Hut on Parker Road.

It's a sight people who live, work and do business around the area have noticed. Maryssa Hamilton is a resident in the area and is concerned.

"I think that it kind of portrays an image that it is not entirely a very safe place to be doing business here," said Hamilton.

It was outside the restaurant last Thursday when manager Kevin Murray was allegedly shot and killed by employee Alireza Nikmanesh.

Pizza Hut's manager referred questions to the corporate office, which did not return CBS 11's calls.

Some people wonder if the security is just a precaution or because of concerns that other employees could also be targets of violence.

Nikmanesh remained in the Collin County Jail with a150,000 bond. Pizza Hut did issue a statement last week saying that security was it's top priority.
