GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Two incidents of junk flying across highways in Garland, have almost killed two unsuspecting drivers.
On Thursday, around 7:00 in the evening, a canister similar to a grill propane tank came loose on 635 near LaPrada in Garland and went right through the windshield of a truck. A passenger was critically injured.
Garland Police officer Joe Harn says they don't know whose canister it was, but someone might have seen this happen.
"The canister vehicle would have been traveling northbound on LBJ at LaPrada." said officer Harn. The pickup truck was going south.
The next day at 3 in the afternoon a piece of flat metal 2 1/2 feet long and several inches wide, known as a leaf spring, flew through a car window on I-30 near Broadway. That driver was hit in the head and is also in critical condition.
It may be off of a car and they don't know it," said Harn. "We need to talk to those people."
Harn is hoping someone saw either of the incidents, and call Crime Stoppers at (972) 272-TIPS
