DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Wooed on Wednesday night at Cowboys owner Jerry Jones' mansion and swayed by the pitch to make him part of 'the best offensive line in the NFL, La'el Collins has agreed to what sources tell me is a fully-guaranteed three-year, $1.65-million contract to join the Dallas Cowboys.

Jones recently termed Collins' circumstance "One of the strangest things I have ever seen."

The LSU star was slated to be a first-round pick in last weeks NFL Draft before Baton Rouge police asked to question him regarding the double-homicide of a pregnant woman and her child yesterday.

Collins was never considered a suspect but the incident on NFL teams to take him off their boards, leaving him as an undrafted free-agent and available to any bidder.

The gathering at Jones' home also included quarterback Tony Romo and the other offensive linemen, went along with members of Collins' family. Sources tell me the subjects broached included Collins helping to extend Romo's career and Collins ability to possibly start at guard and eventually play tackle.

Collins was deemed as the best offensive tackle that was available in the 2015 NFL Draft.
