Cowboys Sign RB McFadden To Two-Year Deal

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) -- At 7:40 a.m. on Friday morning, Shan Shariff, R.J. Choppy and I painted the picture of the next likely Cowboys signing in the wake of DeMarco Murray's departure to Philadelphia.

A pinpointed guy? Former Arkansas and Raiders fist-round running back Darren McFadden.

McFadden has signed a two-year deal, sources tell 105.3 The Fan, and is seen as only part of a running back picture that can continue to come together via the draft, free agency and trades -- the latter scenario of course including a dream scenario involving disgruntled Vikings star Adrian Peterson.

The deal is reportedly worth up to $5.85 million with a $200,000 signing bonus.

Replacing DeMarco – The Draft Options

McFadden was the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2008 after a stellar career at Arkansas -- where both Jerry and Stephen Jones are members of the school's Hall of Fame -- but his seven NFL years have been plagued by injury.

Last year, the explosive-when-healthy McFadden rushed for 534 yards on 155 carries in 16 games. In his career, he has averaged 4.1 yards per carry and has rushed for 4,247 yards and 25 TDs.
