AUSTIN (AP) - A Northeast Texas county has been added to a federal disaster declaration for individuals recovering from Texas storms that began in early May.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency on Wednesday announced Red River County becomes the 47th Texas county eligible for help.

The counties were the ones hardest hit by severe storms, tornadoes, damaging winds and flooding from May 4 to June 22.
Individual disaster assistance applies to eligible homeowners and renters. FEMA says those approved can get emergency help such as rent, temporary housing, home and business repairs.
