IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Irving Saturday night. Maximum winds hit 110 miles per hour.

Several vehicles were stranded in the rising waters near Irving mall. Debris, traffic lights, and flagpoles were found toppled to the ground Sunday morning.

The damaging wind seemed confined to a narrow corridor several hundred yards long. It made for some terrifying moments for people who live nearby. Residents reported hearing an eerie sound last night during the storm; similar to a roar.
