Wrong-way driver causes car crash in Irving, injuring several people

Police say several hospitalized after wrong-way crash in Irving

IRVING - Police are investigating what led to a wrong-way crash Thursday morning.

Hwy 183 westbound at SH 161 and Valley View Lane was closed due to a crash involving a wrong-way driver. This is on the south side of DFW International Airport.

Irving police say they received a call from the Fort Worth Police Department around 4:40 a.m. informing them of the wrong-way driver heading into the city.

While police were responding to the call, the driver, who was heading eastbound in westbound lanes, crashed with another vehicle.

Drivers of both of the vehicles were taken to local hospitals with injuries.
