Arlington Suspect Detained After Shooting Call, Standoff

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Arlington surrounded a home located in the 4800 block of Abbott Avenue, not far from the intersection of Interstate-20 and Collins Street, after a report of a shooting.
Following a standoff, police SWAT teams entered the home and took the suspect into custody.
He was later identified as 21-year-old Shaquan Small.

According to police, a father called saying that he had been shot by his 21-year-old son. The man ran to a neighbor's home for help. From there, the victim was transported to the hospital. His condition is not known.

As police surrounded the home, the SWAT team made entry around 12:30 pm to take Small into custody.
Nearby businesses were placed on lockdown during the standoff, including a nearby daycare. Other homes in the neighborhood were evacuated during the standoff.
