NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (AP) -- North Richland Hills police have arrested a 32-year-old woman who they say lied about being an attorney and collected money for services she never provided.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports the woman faces two charges of falsely holding herself out as a lawyer.

Investigator Keith Bauman, a spokesman for the North Richland Hills police department, says detectives have determined that the suspect doesn't have a license to practice law.

Bauman says as many as nine residents have come forward to say the woman cheated them. Some said they have paid more than $1,500 to the suspect.

Anyone who believes they may have been a victim in the scheme is asked to contact the police department.
