FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Two young children remain hospitalized this morning in Fort Worth after being shot at a motel.

The incident happened around 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Dalworth Inn, located in the 800 block of East Felix Street near Interstate-35W.

The one-year-old and a 4-year-old were both taken to Cook Children's Medical Center.

Police continue to investigate but say it appears the one-year-old somehow got hold of a gun that then accidentally discharged. The bullet broke apart, injured the baby and the 4-year-old boy -- whose injuries were to the lower part of his body.

The Crimes Against Children Unit is looking into the shooting, but Fort Worth police haven't said if anyone is facing charges in relation to the incident.
