Police Investigate Third Bias Crime In Oak Lawn

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Police say they're investigating a bias crime in Oak Lawn.

Police say around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, two men approached a man walking his dog in the 3000 block of Douglas Avenue.

One suspect asked the victim what the dog's name was and when the victim answered, the suspect made a derogatory comment about the victim's perceived sexual orientation and shoved the victim to the ground.  The victim suffered scrapes to his face.

Both suspects took off.

Police say this is the third bias crime reported in the Oak Lawn area since September 2015.

Detectives from the Assaults Unit followed up with the victim over the weekend and canvassed the immediate area looking for video and witnesses.
