1 dead after shooting near Woodrow Wilson High School; suspect in custody, Dallas police say

Police investigating shooting near Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas

Dallas police said one person has died after a shooting near Woodrow Wilson High School late Thursday afternoon.

The shooting was reported around 3:45 p.m. in the 100 block of South Glasgow. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded and took the victim to a hospital, where they later died.

Video from the CBS News Texas chopper shows a large crime scene and police focusing on a minivan. Blood could be seen on the ground outside the van.

Nina Lakhiani, a spokesperson for the Dallas Independent School District, confirmed the shooting happened and said at no point were there any security concerns inside the school.  

Dallas PD said a suspect is in custody.
