Police Impersonator Tries To Abduct Teen Says Rowlett PD

ROWLETT (CBSDFW.COM) - A 14-year-old boy playing Pokemon Go was almost abducted in Community Park by a man pretending to be a police officer according to Rowlett Police.

Police say the man approached the boy around 11:30 a.m. saying he was an officer and the boy's mother was looking for him.

The boy noticed the man had a badge but was not in uniform and was suspicious.  He told the man his mother knows where he is and he's going to call police to see if he's a real officer.

That's when the man went back to his car and drove off.

The boy, who was not hurt, told police he drove a car that looked like a police car.

Police say the suspect in his 30s has balding brown, curly hair and rimless glasses.  He was wearing an range t-shirt, blue jeans, cowboy boots.
