Poems For Amar'e

DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- The New York Knicks waived Amar'e Stoudemire on Monday, clearing way for the 6-foot-10 F/C to join the Mavericks.

Upon being waived by New York, Amar'e released the following image and poem to describe his feelings for the city and say goodbye to the fans.

Poem by: Amar'e Stoudemire

NY NY what a beautiful city
A place where you can hang out with Anna, JayZ & Diddy

Its a place absent of excuses and patience
If your smart, you can meet leaders of every nation

NY NY big city of dreams
Everything in NY isnt always what it seems

In the land where the jungle is concrete
The money flows Dow Jones and Wall Street

Home of #STATcity and the #Knickstape Orginator,
Shalom to all my fans, Salute to all my haters.

Peace and Love
Amar'e Carsares Stoudemire Sr.

As DFW's Sports Station, Shan & RJ are doing their part to welcome Amar'e Carsares Stoudemire Sr. to the Big D.

Yo, Amar'e
I see you bathe in Red Wine
Your game was one time fine
But like the rest of the mavs
You're losing to father time

You couldn't play with Melo
I know he's a bad fellow
But when it comes to the Mavs
Please don't even say Hell-o

Dallas/Fort Worth, what an awesome combo,
A place where you can hang with Romo, Jerry and Rondo.
It's a place absent of blizzards and negative ovation,
If you sign, you'll be covered by DFW's Sports Station.
Dallas Fort Worth, an endless possibility of dreams,
We'll throw you a championship parade for non-winning teams.
In the land where the blondes are never discreet,
The Texas BBQ flows without sauce on every street.
Home of margaritas and King of Country George Strait,
Shalom to all the fan-fans, who aren't bitter with East Coast hate.

Peace and Love,

Shan Omar Shariff

Welcome, Amar'e, to the city of Dallas,
We think you'll love it here,
And as long as you just bust your a**,
There'll be plenty of reason to cheer.

You like your great skyscrapers?
Well Dallas has them too...
Attractions, theme parks, aquariums, museums,
We even have TWO zoos.

And I hope you don't forget,
that we Dallas-ites love wine.
On the patio, on the lake, at the vet
We drink it all the time.

So move yourself into the Cirque,
and get to the A-A-C quick,
You'll find that the best thing about being a Maverick,
Is that you're no longer a Knick.

Welcome to the D ... a vast land of fun, sun and guns
BBQ, chicks in summers dresses your new life has just begun

Welcome to the D ... Ebola is now free and absolete
But STDs are still quite rampant ...Ask any girl from North Mesquite

Welcome to the D ... the AAC will treat you well
Don't tell Rick Carlisle you're a reporter, he'll do nothing but give you hell

Welcome to the D ... Make sure you checkout McKinney Avenue
Shan will be there most nights since the bars stay open til 2

Welcome to the D ... Lets bring a championship back to the Metroplex
And if you can pull any strings ... I would still like to be Big Tex
