Local station KERA is one of many PBS stations across the country that will broadcast it as a digital subchannel.
The kid-friendly channel will eventually include an integrated games feature, too. It will create a fun, interactive experience for children to bounce between a show and an activity linked to it.
The channel will also be streamed on the PBS Kids web site and app, which opens the door to Internet-connected TVs through Roku, Apple TV, Chromecast and other streaming devices.
The channel will launch later this year.
