FORT WORTH (CBSDFW) - A judge in Parker County has sentenced a teenager to 45-years in prison for killing his mother and sister. It's a deal that means the family won't have to go through a trial.

19-year old Jake Evans stunned a 911 operator In October 2012 when he calmly said he had shot his mother and sister to death.

Police say Evans had shot his mother, Jami Evans, 48, and younger sister, Mallory Evans, in the home they shared in the town of Annetta South, a few miles south of Aledo.

Prosecutor Robert Duboise says the family had urged the deal so they wouldn't have to go through a trial. The sentence means Evans can qualify for parole in as little as 22-years.
