Parent Arrested For Assaulting DISD Teacher

SEAGOVILLE (CBS11) -  A fight between a group students at Seagoville High School turned into a "brawl" when their parents showed up at the school.

DISD Police say parent Kerri Dial jumped into a fight between her daughter and a group of other girls along with their parents at Seagoville High School.

A teacher also stepped in to break up the fight when Dial allegedly punched the teacher.

DISD Police arrested Dial and charged her with felony assault of a public servant.

"I would never go up and punch a teacher," the 33-year-old mother said.

Dial said in fact the teacher assaulted her. She claims the teacher pushed her into a filling cabinet.

The Dallas mother said regrets ever being involved in a fight but added she was just trying to defend her 15-year-old daughter who was being bullied.

Dial said, "You want to get your child to safety and that's all I was doing."
