Streets in Pantego neighborhood remain closed due to SWAT standoff

PANTEGO (CBSNewsTexas.com) – Police and SWAT are in a standoff with a resident of a home in Pantego after making an attempt to serve a warrant.

SWAT, police serving warrant in Pantego neighborhood

Tarrant County Sheriff's deputies and Pantego police officers arrived at a home on Grant Place to serve a warrant when the person in the home displayed a firearm. A deputy then fired their service weapon. The person then went back into their home and deputies and officers backed away.

Police say there is reason to believe this person is a danger to themself and others. They are working to contact the person to get them to surrender.

Streets into and out of the neighborhood have been shut down by police. Residents have either evacuated or are sheltering in place. 

The following roads are closed:

  • Nora at Peachtree
  • Nora at Smith-Barry
  • Smith Barry at Silver Leaf 
  • Silver Leaf at Peachtree
