Two Dead In Head-On Collision Near Cleburne

CLEBURNE (CBSDFW.COM) -- Two drivers were killed on Wednesday morning when their vehicles collided head on near Cleburne.

The crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. in the 6500 block of FM 4 near FM 2331 just northwest of Cleburne.

Authorities say the driver of a 2014 Ford Focus attempted to pass a tanker truck in a no-passing zone, resulting in the crash. That driver was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth in critical condition, where she died.

The driver of a 2003 Hyundai Santé Fe was pronounced dead on scene.

Police have not released the identities of the drivers.

FM 4 is closed while police continue their investigation.
