DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - As the East coast prepares for the possible devastating effects of Hurricane Matthew, they'll soon be getting some help from North Texas.

More than 450 Oncor workers are headed to Florida and Georgia to assist with hurricane recovery. The deployment is part of a nationwide cooperative of electrical providers.

Crews are expected to help with clearing downed trees, replacing broken or damaged power lines, and restoring power to business and residential areas.
