FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – North Texas is finally seeing a break from the relentless heat that scorched the area for almost three weeks straight.

On Tuesday many people across North Texas woke up to temperatures in the 70s and stayed relatively cool all day long.

People CBS11 spoke to on the Trinity trail cycling and jogging said the break from the heat is well-received.

"It's cool. It's breezy. It's a little humid but it just feels really amazing," said Lourdes Gonzalez of Fort Worth.

Over at the Botanic Gardens the cool breeze brought out "PokeTrainers" by the handfuls.

The Pokémon GO enthusiasts said they spent hours out in the refreshing conditions trying to catch virtual monsters.

"It's awesome compared to the last three weeks of disaster, of 100 degrees," said Kayleigh Fletcher.

CBS11 Weather Meteorologists predict the mild and cooler temperatures across the metroplex will hang around all week.
