DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – A high-end jewelry line sold at Neiman Marcus is empowering Dallas women through work.

For the last 10 years, the Akola Project has helped women in Uganda earn a living by crafting hand rolled beads for necklaces and bracelets which are sold around the world.

The non-profit just launched a high-end line available exclusively at Neiman Marcus. The new partnership provides job opportunities for over 100 local women.

The socially conscious brand says it is focused on giving women who may not otherwise have the opportunity, a chance to earn a living wage.

"For every single unit that we sell, that directly correlates with opportunity that we get to provide to women in our city and our world," says Chief Operating Officer, Emily Heger.
