Next Storm, Current Hurricane

Great weather today again for north Texas, just a little warmer and little more humid than Saturday:

The dry, warm weather lasts most of the work week ahead. Starting Tuesday afternoon however we have the risk of strong to severe storms showing up in north Texas. We expect an active dry line to produce a few storms each day with the risk confined to the western counties:

There could be large hail and damaging winds with these storms.

 

By Thursday its much the same story. We'll get into some hot, breezy weather on Wednesday and Thursday along with high humidity. A cold front moves in on Friday bringing up the rain chances. Behind the front I expect strong northwest winds to usher in some cooler weather:

 

Next weekend looks cooler and dry. Until then expect a slight feel of summer in the air by mid-week:

The latest on Hurricane Matthew this morning pushes the official forecast track a little further west away from Jamaica and closer to Haiti:

This major hurricane will start to bring high winds into eastern Cuba and Haiti late Monday with the worst of Matthew arriving Tuesday. This hurricane could bring deadly winds and incredible rains:

 

The general trend on the forecast models is to take Hurricane Matthew over the Bahamas island chain on Wednesday and keep the storm off shore of the United States.
