New Bus Service From Dallas To Houston Promises To Be 'Luxurious'

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Travel between two of Texas biggest cities will never be the same starting next month.

Luxury and bus are two words that don't often go together, but this bus looks like the first class cabin of a jumbo jet.

It's the airlines that this bus line plans to compete against when it starts its Dallas to Houston route next month.

Based at a Love Field hotel, Vonlane's buses are designed to attract business travelers

Monthly flights to Houston are something Dallas businessman Ron Tamlyn has come to dread.

"It's a hassle you spent three or four hours going there," says traveler Ron Tamlyn.

He already has a ticket on Vonlane's new bus service to Houston that starts next month, Vonlane's President Alex Danza couldn't be happier.

"We've had a lot of customers call it a private jet on wheels," says Danza.

The bus has 16 extra large seats, TVs, personal attendants, snacks, and a business conference room for up to six people.

"It was nice you can sit in the back have enough space work and your computers," says traveler Alexandra Bills.

These women arrived from Austin today on the first route Vonlane began operating last year.

They were greeted by the bus company's president, who hopes to hopes to give North Texans another option to flying or driving to Houston.

"You really can't get anything done you got emails coming in you got text messages coming and you really can't respond," says Danza.

Taking the bus does make passengers more vulnerable to traffic delays than flying, but less likely to be affected by the weather.

One-way tickets are $100 but for the first month at least, you can go for only $69 and the service starts April 20th
