DALLAS (CBS11) - Shenika Hubbard walked out her front door Tuesday morning and found police units sitting in the parking lot of her apartment complex.

"I can't believe he was this close," the 26-year old Dallas resident said. Hubbard lives two doors from sex assault suspect Samuel Jamall White.

Dallas Police arrested White inside a unit at the Mandalay Palms Apartments. The sprawling complex of 400 units is located in far Southwest Oak Cliff, in the 7500 block of Chesterfield.

White is accused of two sex assaults in NE Dallas between September of 2015 and February 8. Detectives issued a public alert by sharing White's photographs to the news media.

The images came from surveillance video from two locations.

The February incident surrounds a woman who was sexually assaulted in her Lake Highlands apartment. 30 minutes after the attack, police say video from a nearby convenience store shows White using the victim's debit card. Police also connect White to an assault against a woman at a DART light rail station in September. The video from that location shows White leaving that scene.

Monday, Dallas Police issued another public warning, saying White may be a sexual predator.

This morning, police arrived at the apartment unit White allegedly shares with his girlfriend. He was taken into custody. The woman inside the apartment unit denied knowing White when we asked her about the morning arrest.

"I've seen him here, and at the store around the block," neighbor Hubbard recounted.

She said White was quiet and unassuming.

"I can't believe it's the same man they've been looking for. He's right next to me," said Hubbard.
