Natural Gas Leak Near Train Station Shuts Down DART Green Line

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Green Line service has been shutdown at the request of Dallas Fire Rescue after a natural gas leak near the Walnut Hill Station.

Officials with DFR say they were called to the 11000 block of Denton Drive after a construction crew accident. Apparently, workers using heavy equipment hit a 4-6 inch gas line while working on the road.

In addition to the DART line stoppage, Denton Drive has been shutdown from Southwell Road to Walnut Hill Lane. Train passengers are being transported by bus to other stations.

Atmos Energy has been notified about the gas line break.
