DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - He's having fun fundraising - and he hopes you will, too.

Clay Quinn's quirky half-court basketball shots are a nod to his dad, Joe.

Type 1 Diabetes caused his dad's kidney failure.

"So he went in and he was feeling pretty bad - and they were like 'You need a transplant now,'" says Quinn.

Earlier this month, Clay's dad received a much-needed kidney transplant.

The donor: Clay's mom Chelly. A perfect match all along.

"She's just so strong and I'll get emotional if I keep talking about her," says Quinn. "But it's just been inspiring."

The inspiration led to the idea: 30 days of 30 different swishes, and raise money for the National Kidney Foundation, in honor of mom and dad.
