Mother Arrested For Leaving Child In Hot Car

CEDAR HILL (CBSDFW.COM) - Cedar Hill Police arrested a mother Monday for allegedly leaving her two-year-old son inside a hot car while she want shopping.

Nikellie Warren, 32, is charged with abandoning and endangering a child.  She's in jail with bond set at $2,500.

Police say a passerby saw the child crying in a car seat in the parking lot of a Walmart near Highway 67 and FM 1382.

The doors were unlocked and police rescued the boy.

Police say the child was in the car for approximately 17 minutes while the temperature outside was 91 degrees.
