OKLAHOMA (CBSDFW.COM) - The CDC is investigating five new cases of a rare strain of E. coli linked to Chipotle Mexican Grill, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Officials said the new cases are a different rare type of E. coli. and it's not clear if the five new cases are related to the original October outbreak.

The CDC said those five people ate at Chipotle locations in Oklahoma and Kansas.

There aren't any reports that any of the victims died during the outbreak.

Chipotle said it has revamped its food safety practices and it's now implementing new programs.
